A professional portfolio consist of a collection of documents one will need to for a promotion or "tenure" process. According to the article I found on the internet, a professional portfolio will include your work as a scholar which includes studies or researches you've done, experiences and accomplishments, and other academics services. A professional portfolio should be structured, comprehensive, and selective. In terms of structured, it should be organized, neatly created, creative, and presentable. In terms of comprehensive, "the
documentation should represent the scope of one's work".  As for presentation, it is best to choose which to document to include and which not to include. With the amount of accomplishment we have earned, it is our nature to include everything and anything into a professional portfolio, but in this case, be selective; choose wisely.
On the link provided above, it includes most of the information we can find about professional portfolios. It includes some of the documents that are usually included in a portfolio such as,  awards and recognitions, table of contents, examples of your lesson plans, assignments, exams, and syllabi, evidences of teaching effectiveness, teaching experiences, etc. You may include other collection of documents, but as a reminder, BE SELECTIVE.
